Packing A Punch For Home Theatre. Pre- packaged Home Theatre packages are a great option for homes where you want a non-permanent installation or something that can be moved about the house from time to time.
The surround-sound speaker system gives movie lovers a home audio experience that’s more like what they hear in the theatre, without it being permanently fixed in walls or ceilings. We have picked two of our favorite system setups as they not only sell well, but they are our favorites because they deliver the best combination of performance, design, user-friendliness, and affordability. The speakers sounded as good as anything we tried in their price range, plus and they look terrific.
The Polk Signature Series – Packing A Punch For Home Theatre
The Polk Signature Series is the best deal we’ve found in a surround-sound speaker system for some time.
The Signature line includes a variety of models, but we recommend the pack that includes the S60 for the front left and right channels, the S20 as surround speakers, and the S30 center speaker. In our review, this combo’s performance was competitive with that of everything else we tried in its price range—and better than that of many more-expensive systems we tested.
The system was robust enough to play at high volumes without distortion and the S30 center channel sounded clear for dialogue in our tests. Its low-profile, 4.1-inch-high design lets it sit in front of most TVs without blocking the picture. The Signature Series design is far more stylish than we expect to see in such an affordable speaker line.
The HTS-12 subwoofer is a well known product and works seamlessly for movie and sports content. Plus it is a nice looking unit.
Setup is relatively easy with the addition of some speaker wire, maybe some speaker stands for the rears and a connection to a good AVR from either Denon, Yamaha or Marantz.

The ELAC Debut 2.0 – Packing A Punch For Home Theatre
The ELAC Debut 2.0 speakers are larger and have a more robust sound than the Polk Signature Series speakers, which might make this system a better choice for someone who has a large room or likes to listen at higher volume levels.
Many system configurations are possible; we recommend two F6.2 Floor standing speakers for the front left and right channels, the slightly smaller B5.2 as surrounds, and the compact C5.2 center speaker. ELAC also offers the option to add matching A4.2 Dolby Atmos–enabled speakers, which makes it easy for you to create an even more immersive surround-sound experience if you own an Atmos-equipped AV Receiver and the Elac SUB3010 puts your right into Jurassic park
