Good bang for buck

Pretty happy with this player, into our Yamaha network amp. Sounds great, simple controls and has digital out if we choose to add a DAC later. Only criticism is that it’s quite slow to load discs but guessing that’s some sort of buffering thing.

Excellent addition to my system

The unit is very solidly built and performs as advertised. As well as adding streaming capabilities to my 90's vintage system, it also allows me to play CD's and records to my Musicast speakers in other rooms.

I have been very impressed with this grunty and quick subwoofer. It not only looks great in piano black but fits perfectly in the room and compliments and rest of the system, for TV, 2.1 channel record listening, and surround sound sources. The addition of and facilities in the APP mean i can tweak on the fly as i am listening, brilliant. The wireless system works seamlessly and is so easy to set up. I am so impressed i decided to keep my old JMLab SW800 sub and buy another wireless kit for that (the wireless gives me the freedom to place a sub anywhere...such convenience without impacting sonics).

When I first decided to purchase the InnuOS ZENmini LPSU Power Supply, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. I’d heard it was supposed to be a valuable upgrade, but I didn’t fully grasp just how transformative it could be. Now, I can confidently say it’s one of the best investments I’ve ever made.The change was immediate and remarkable. The bass just got better. It gained a tunefulness and texture I hadn’t experienced before, with an extra weight that felt perfectly balanced. It wasn’t overwhelming; it was just right. The instruments and vocals took on a vividness and naturalness. Suddenly, it wasn’t like I was hearing a digital reproduction—I was hearing the something natural.

I bought the Hugo TT2 based heavily on a review from ConvinceMeAudio on youtube, he highly recommended the ZMF Pendant(which is too hard to get my hands on over here) and the Hugo TT2 with the ZMF Verite Closed that I already owned and he was not wrong, my Verites sound amazing on the Hugo, the tonality is just incredible as is the Imaging, Image Separation and Soundstage, the level of detail is beyond what I thought these cans were capable of, it evens brings out an 'almost' Focal thump/slam quality to the Verites on some songs, I think I can finally stop buying more gear as this will be very hard for me to beat. I'm someone who struggles with gear that's too treble focused, I could easily see the TT2's tuning being way too much for people in a similar situation, I find the VCs are a bit too warm/dark on most gear so I needed something quite detailed to balance them just right which the TT2 did.... but most gear I ran in the past I found I had to use tubes to mellow out the treble to my taste.

The build quality is not as good as expected as the front panel doesn’t fit the chassis properly also the volume *** makes a crackle through the speakers not what I would expect from this amplifier 😡 My cheap Dayton Audio D class does not do this so I am quite disappointed

AudioQuest Forest USB 2.0 A to B Cable

I’m really impressed with the AudioQuest Forest USB 2.0 A to B Cable. It perfectly complements my setup with the Q Acoustics 3020i speakers and Cambridge Audio CXA61 amplifier. The sound clarity and precision have noticeably improved, and the build quality is excellent. I’m convinced that the investment was definitely worth it, and the cable makes a significant difference in audio performance. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enhance their Hi-Fi setup!

Gutwire Audio Cables Perfect Ground

I had read the Gutwire's write up on their ground cables and decided it would be good to try one. Lucky me they were available in NZ. The cable showed up and I found it worked well plugging the RCA end into a spare socket of my preamp, the 3 pin plug that comes with it went into a mains socket. Note only the (safety) earth is connected. Note also this is used instead of various filters/power conditioners on the market. I don't mind, the Gutwire product does really work. Yes, the noise floor was very quiet and the imaging improved. I confess I slightly adjusted my speaker placement subtly to improve things even further. Impressive!! One further thing I noticed is that it removed the stray mains currents (ultra microscopic) present on the chassis of 2 pin plug audio components and on speaker cones. You can prove this yourself with a hand held live AC" sniffer. This is an added bonus. You are filtering more than EMI with this cable. This is great value and I highly recommend it. Sorry it took 2 years to review this!
