Description
Atoll Electronique PR400 Signature Preamplifier
To provide a quality signal to the Atoll Electronique PR400 Signature Preamplifier, the French manufacturer has chosen to oversize all the electronic components that equip the Atoll PR400 Signature pre-amp.
It thus embeds an impressive power supply section implementing a double toroidal transformer associated with numerous capacitors for a total current capacity of 112,000 µF. This power supply section is associated with the best audiophile components including shielded MKP link capacitors in independent casings to avoid any radiation problem.
The audio stages are designed symmetrically with two identical stages per channel. This symmetrical design ensures a musicality full of nuances and very detailed.
Equipped with audiophile quality components, the Atoll PR400 Signature pre-amp ensures a musicality full of nuances and very detailed over a wide bandwidth ranging from 0.5 Hz to 780 kHz.

Atoll PR400 Signature: unbalanced and balanced connectors
The Atoll PR400 Signature hi-fi preamp adopts a purely analog design.
It provides five unbalanced inputs on its rear panel to connect all your sources such as a CD player, a DAC, a pre-amplified deck or an FM tuner, for example. The connection of these different elements can also be done in symmetry thanks to the two XLR inputs.
A By-Pass input is also present to connect an already pre-amplified source. The connection of the Atoll PR400 Signature pre-amp is facilitated thanks to a double unbalanced RCA output as well as a double XLR output. Two power amps can thus be used simultaneously with this Atoll preamplifier.
- Equipped with numerous unbalanced and balanced inputs, the Atoll PR400 Signature pre-amplifier is ideal for centralizing all the links in a high-end hi-fi installation.
- Equipped with the best components and technologies from the French brand, the Atoll PR400 Signature pre-amp is a top choice for any high-end hi-fi installation.
Review
“From the first bars, the surprise comes from the sound stage which comes out very largely from the framework of the speakers, proof of a perfect mastery of the phase, at the same time as the great silence of these electronics with symmetrical circuits from start to finish. All our usual excerpts come out enlightened, dusted off. This, combined with the amp’s large headroom, makes everything easy and peaceful. The finale of Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 by the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin conducted by Kent Nagano (HM), no longer seems to sweep over us, but on the contrary to encompass and envelop us in its finest variations. We want to listen to everything, until the end of the night.” Tuning fork
