The AudioQuest Greyhound Subwoofer Cable though its combination of long legs, deep chest, flexible spine, and slender build make it an excellent hunting and racing breed.

Capable of reaching speeds in excess of 64 kilometers per hour (40 MPH), the gentle, intelligent greyhound would just as well spend its day simply and quietly enjoying long naps in the soft shade.

Description

AudioQuest Greyhound Subwoofer Cable

The AudioQuest Greyhound Subwoofer Cable is popular with customers who don’t want a black cable snaking around the walls of their home. Greyhound is perfectly named and its jacket cover is in a very attractive white/grey so will definitely blend in with the modern look home.

AudioQuest’s Greyhound dedicated subwoofer cable delivers deep bass to your powered subwoofer and features two identical conductors, and each conductor is a single, unbroken strand of AudioQuest’s high-purity Long-Grain Copper.

Solid conductors eliminate electrical and magnetic interference that can make multi-strand conductor cables sound brittle. They can also eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications.

Even the small amount of silver (0.05%) over the copper conductors will make a difference because it is generally accepted that audio signals travel over the surface and not through the middle of the conductor.

FEATURES

METAL-LAYER NOISE-DISSIPATION

It’s easy to accomplish 100% shield coverage. Preventing captured radio-frequency interference (RFI) from modulating the equipment’s ground reference requires AQ’s Noise-Dissipation.

Traditional shield systems typically absorb and then drain noise/RF energy to component ground, modulating and distorting the critical “reference” ground plane, which in turn causes a distortion of the signal. Noise-Dissipation “shields the shield,” absorbing and reflecting most of this noise/RF energy before it reaches the layer attached to ground.

SOLID .5% SILVER CONDUCTORS FOR IMPROVED SUBWOOFER PERFORMANCE

Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications.

These signals, being such a high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but priced much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly cost effective way of manufacturing very high-quality subwoofer cables.

HYPERLITZ COAX GEOMETRY

A perfect circle of eight negative conductors spiral around a single, larger positive conductor, creating a cable with a large cross-sectional area, minimizing the drawbacks of skin effect, and providing low resistance.

COLD-WELDED, GOLD-PLATED TERMINATIONS

This plug design allows for a connection devoid of solder, which is a common source of distortion. Instead of solder, the process employs a high-pressure technique. Because the ground shells are stamped instead of machined, the metal used can be chosen for low distortion instead of machinability.

FOAMED-POLYETHYLENE INSULATION

Any solid material adjacent to a conductor is actually part of an imperfect circuit. Wire insulation and circuit board materials all absorb energy. Some of this energy is stored and then released as distortion. Because air absorbs next to no energy and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile, Foamed-PE, with its high air content, causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials.
