The Closed-Back Reference
Thanks to their closed-back design, the DT 1770 PRO MKII offers a high level of sound insulation. Suitable for professional recording, monitoring and editing, the premium headphones perform impressively as reference headphones both in everyday studio work and in loud live environments.
The lively sound profile is characterized by powerful bass, natural mids and detailed highs.
Professional -Level Flexibility
Two different sets of ear pads are included. The velour ear pads offer the usual high level of comfort. The leatherette ear pads offer a high level of sound insulation.
A straight cable (3m) and a coiled cable (5m) are included. Both have a lockable 3-pin mini-XLR plug. Everything is safely stored in a high-quality hard case.
The New Generation of Tesla Technology
The DT 1770 PRO MKII feature the latest generation of TESLA driver technology TESLA.45. Redesigned from the ground up, the 45mm driver system boasts an excellent resolution, extremely low distortion and outstanding impulse behaviour.
The TESLA.45 provides signal fidelity even at high volumes. The engineers have managed to combine studio-sound and flexibility thanks to weight-optimized materials. The DT 1770 PRO MKII has an impedance of 30 ohms, which means that the studio headphones can be used with a variety of end devices.
When it comes to sound, the premium model boasts precise bass response, transparent mids and detailed highs. The TESLA.45 sound transducers are manufactured at the company headquarters in Heilbronn, Germany.
Each DT 1770 PRO MKII contains two TESLA.45 sound transducers, which are measured several times during the various production steps.
Maximum Comfort
The DT 1770 PRO MKII is designed for long studio sessions. The robust, flexible spring steel headband design ensures optimum contact pressure.
In addition to the velour ear pads, the leatherette ear pads also guarantee a comfortable fit. The headband is made of soft memory foam and adapts to the shape of the head.
The new fontanelle recess avoids pain-sensitive areas on the head. Both the headband and the ear pads can be replaced if necessary.
Powerful on Various Devices
Redesigned from the ground up, the 45mm driver system boasts excellent resolution, extremely low distortion and outstanding impulse behavior.
The new DT 1770 PRO MKII now has a low impedance of only 30 ohms, which means that your studio headphones can be used with a variety of user interfaces.
At work, home or play, don’t stop the music.
Q&A
How has the new TESLA.45 transducer been improved?
Both the closed-back DT 1770 PRO MKII and the open-back DT 1990 PRO MKII are equipped with two TESLA.45 drivers, each measuring 45 mm in diameter.
The powerful neodymium magnet achieves a flux density of over one Tesla in the voice coil air gap, resulting in particularly strong driver performance. Thanks to the structurally optimized diaphragm, the level of distortion and impulse response has been significantly improved compared to the previous model, leading to a clearer sound profile.
The diaphragm, made of high-performance PEEK polymer, ensures precise bass reproduction, while the refined treble profile is achieved through a lightweight voice coil made of aluminum-coated copper wire.
The newly developed system combines flexibility and exceptional sound quality due to the use of modern materials and manufacturing techniques. With an impedance of 30 ohms, both models are suitable for a wide range of devices, providing reference-quality sound that meets the needs of professional users.
Why a 30ohm impedance on the new DT 1770 PRO MKII?
Many playback devices lack the output voltage necessary for driving high-impedance headphones.
The lower impedance of these models increases versatility, allowing them to perform well with various devices.
How do the two ear pad sets of the DT 1770 PRO MKII Differ?
The velour ear pads offer the usual high level of comfort and balanced sound.
The leatherette ear pads offer a high level of external sound insulation.
How does the sound signature differ from DT 1770 PRO to the new DT 1770 PRO MKII?
The DT 1770 PRO MKII builds on the sound of its predecessor but with enhancements in key areas. The bass is more prominent, mids are clear and transparent, and highs are detailed.
The high-frequency range has been fine-tuned for a more balanced sound across the entire spectrum.
