Description
Topping D10s USB DAC And USB SPDIF Converter
The Topping D10s USB DAC And USB SPDIF Converter is a great little tool.
The ES9018K2M SABRE Reference DAC is a high-performance 32-bit, 2-channel audio D/A converter. Using the critically acclaimed ESS patented 32-bit HyperStream® DAC architecture and Time Domain Jitter Eliminator, the ES9018K2M delivers a DNR of up to 127dB and THD+N of –120dB, a performance level that will satisfy the most demanding audio enthusiasts. Its 32-bit HyperStream® architecture can handle up to 32-bit, 384kHz PCM data via I2S, DSD-11.2MHz data. It benefits from unprecedented dynamic range and ultra low distortion, unmatched audio clarity free from input clock jitter and distortion free signal processing.
Texas Instruments OPA2134 is a representative of the OPA134 series, which are ultra-low distortion, low-noise operational amplifiers fully specified for audio applications. A true FET input stage is incorporated to provide superior sound quality and speed for exceptional audio performance. This, in combination with high output drive capability and excellent DC performance, makes it perfect for Topping D10. In addition, the OPA2134 has a wide output swing, to within 1 V of the rails, allowing increased headroom. Input cascode circuitry provides excellent common-mode rejection and maintains low input bias current over its wide input voltage range, minimizing distortion. OPA134 series operational amplifiers are unity-gain stable and provide excellent dynamic behavior over a wide range of load conditions, including high load capacitance.
USB interface is controlled by a renoved XMOS XU208 USB chip. XU208 chip is a representative of the xCORE-200 Series by XMOS and is a 32-bit mulitcore microcontroller characterized by its low latency and timing determinism. Unlike conventional microcontrollers, XU208 is cabable of exectuing multiple real-time tasks simultaneously and communicate between tasks using a high speed network.
D10s supports maximum of PCM384kHz/32bit sampling rate and DSD from DSD64 (Dop) to DSD256 (Native).
D10s also allows DIYers to replace OP amps to experiment with different sound signatures. On top of that it is compatible with Windows (Win 7 and above), Mac and Android. It also conveniently allows the user to synchronize turning it on and off together with the PC it’s connected to.
These properties paired with its extremely affordable price make it a perfect choice as an entry level hi-res DAC to start an adventure with high-end audio with.
