Description
Vincent CD-200 Hybrid CD-Player
The music signals on the Vincent CD-200 Hybrid CD-Player are converted by the excellent Burr-Brown chip PCM176, are being prepared by one 6N2 tube. This is responsible for the smooth and natural sound of the music.
The concept of having the best of both transistors and tubes aims to bring classic ‘tube warmth’ to the audio while retaining the robust durability of transistors. It is Vincent’s belief that implementing valve amplification in at least one part of the system is hugely beneficial to the sound experience.
The characteristics of tube/valve audio equipment has been known for a long time. Their sound has supporters in every realm of music production and enjoyment. Even in audio source devices, there are amplifier circuits. With these, the sound can be greatly improved by sophisticated amplifier circuitry. The hybrid design offers its own special charm using tubes to add warmth to the sound.
