“This review could be read as a fluff piece, but I promise you it is not. The Wave High Fidelity Storm Reference BNC cable is simply that good. It was designed to fix a very specific problem, and it does. The result is raising the performance bar on one of the best DAC/Up Scaler combos that money can buy today. It is truly a mystery to me why Chord has not simply OEM’d this cable to be sold with the M Scaler. If you own an M Scaler or a Chord Blu MK II, you should order these cables. They are worth every penny and will enhance your systems performance substantially in my experience.” – Read more>>
Many identify the effects of RF interference as a harsh sound similar to digital glare which ultimately makes the music sound fatiguing. The presence of RF noise can sometimes be mistaken for detail or a widened sound stage but this is merely an artefact of the interference and is not true detail. Many say that the presence of RF is most easily recognised when it is eradicated. In other words listen with your normal cables and then try the WAVE Storm reference cables. Most people say that they hear an immediate difference saying the music sounds darker, more relaxed and with more detail coming through. Owners of the cables also report that the bass is deeper and has more detail. A vague desire to turn the volume down is instead replaced by a desire to turn the volume up which in my experience is always a sure sign that the RF noise has been eliminated from the system. Indeed even with higher volume levels the music somehow does not appear ‘loud’. Rock music actually sounds like rock music should and classical music can be allowed to be played at realistic concert levels, all without harshness.
The cables are designed and manufactured in the Vale of Belvoir in rural Leicestershire. You are very welcome to make an appointment to listen to the WAVE Storm Reference BNC cables with our Chord Blu2 MScaler or our Hugo MScaler and Dave DAC. Please bring your own BNC cables and CDs for a direct comparison with the WAVE cables. Email Nick ([email protected]) to arrange a demonstration session.
At the heart of the WAVE Storm BNC cables is a 5N (99.999%) pure solid silver conductor to allow a strong digital signal. A foil screen is incorporated for high frequency shielding together with a silver plated mesh screen. The result is a true 75 ohm cable.
High quality BNC connectors are used and these are silver soldered throughout with particular attention to providing a full circumference solder connection to the sheathing for STORM Reference grade performance.
Each of the WAVE Storm Reference BNC cables incorporates 20 ferrites to filter out RF interference. These ferrites are carefully selected to target the specific problem frequencies. The ferrites are also tightly fitting on the cables which increases their effectiveness. The WAVE ferrites can be contrasted with clip on split ferrites which are often targeting the wrong frequencies which are loose fitting. Clip on ferrites also pinch the dielectric and the screen is brought closer to the central conductor at the pinch points resulting in a changed cable characteristic.
Cable appearance choices are available when adding the cables to the cart.
The price is per 1m pair
Within the EU the WAVE STORM cables are delivered in a wood box which is intended to be able to be useful for storing other items after the cables have been delivered. Due to courier costs outside the EU the cables are delivered in a robust double wall cardboard box and foam liner.

CUSTOMER COMMENTS:
“I am very happy as the cables seems to remove the last trace of digital harshness.”
– Anthony, Hong Kong
“Received yesterday my Wave cables (naked). They look and feel much more robust than all of my heavily ferrited cables (including Chord and Canare). The sound is darker than anything I have tested before (and probably because of that feels more open). Definitely a keeper. Thank you Nick.”
– Alexander, Sweden
